Our hardware store associates can refill or exchange propane fuel or tanks for your gas grill, forklift, and many other uses. It’s a good idea to change out old propane each season to ensure your equipments optimal performance and avoid premature damage to the interior parts.

Lawnmower & Snow blower Repair

Don’t let a broken lawnmower keep you from maintaining a pristine and green lawn or a broken snowblower keep you from keeping your driveway clean. Rather than purchasing a new mower or snow blower, bring yours into Purcell Ace Hardware to be repaired.

Screen Build & Repair 

Our Yorkville and Oswego locations also offer screen build and repair for standard and custom window and door sizes. Bring the frame in and we will measure, cut and attach the screen in-store. If you have a broken screen, we can repair or replace that for you.

Handy Tip: consider repairing your screens during the cold months December-February. When we have the first warm day of spring wait times can jump from several days to several weeks in just one afternoon, so beat the crowd, remember-new year, new screens!

Key Cutting & Auto Chip Keys

Key cutting is another service available at Purcell Ace Hardware. Whether you need a replacement or duplicate key, or several copies of the same key, we can have them ready for you the same day. We also cut and program chip keys. Bring in a key you have for your car, home, filing cabinet, or garage and we can cut another copy to match precisely. We also have a vast selection of new keys to choose from which can be matched with the correct lock from our hardware department.

Blade Sharpening

ReSharp is a new, automated tool to sharpen knives safely, professionally, and perfectly every time. This convenient, automated system allows ACE to offer this service to our customers who don’t want to replace quality knives that have lost their edge. Our customers can get their knives sharpened on demand while they wait. ReSharp works with Blades between 2.5 – 12 inches in length, and up to 3.5 inches tall.  (ReSharp does not work with Scalloped, Serrated or Ceramic Blades. No Machetes, Scissors, Swords, or other single-bevel blades.)

We have partnered with CPR Electronic Recycling, in Shorewood, to start offering electronic recycling.  On the last Thursday of each month from 1:00 – 4:00pm, we will provide recycling services.

CPR Electronic Recycling offers a comprehensive e-waste recycling solution that covers every step of the process, from pickup to recycling!
